Opening Soon! at CityPlace! Thai Jo!
But that is *not* the restaurant to which I refer. When the new Thai eatery does open at CityPlace, it will have a lot to prove to this reviewer, and big shoes to fill {In My Humble Opinion}.
When The Husband and I are at a loss in choosing a place for dinner
, we usually opt for Thai as an agreeable compromise. We’ve tried many in the nearby vicinity until we came across Wattana Thai and never looked back. Travelling South on Dixie to 7201 South Dixie, you reach what almost appears to be a little house on the corner with a parking lot across the street. It’s a small establishment, big on friendly efficient service and good food. You are always greeted as if you are a neighbor dropping in for dinner. You can tell there are many repeat guests as the staff welcomes them by name.
When you enter, look up to the wall on the right where a blackboard advertises that day’s specials. If none of those dishes strike your fancy, the menu is sure to please with a large variety of meat, seafood, noodle, and vegetable choices. I’d like to specifically make mention of one of my favorite beverages, Thai Iced Coffee. I’m not much of a coffee drinker in general, but this absolutely hits the spot!
And when it comes to dessert, the coconut ice cream is the best! Chock full of real pieces of coconut in a delectable creamy ice cream.
I refer you to the website/menu to see what they have to offer: Wattana
Of course,we’d like to be able to walk to somewhere close when the mood for Thai strikes, but it will have to be pretty amazing to convince us to replace Wattana Thai.
